Don’t you just love January 1st? Everything feels so fresh, ok, there might be toxines in you body, but it’s like a crisp new page in a new chapter of your life, and chances are, you haven’t broken any vows just yet … That is, if you’ve made them in the first place … My underlying resolution, which I could re-cycle as a wish too all of you, is inspired by this definition of insanity:
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Obviously, doing the same things over and over again works for some people. People that like the results of their actions and are happy with their routine. Those people may very well exist, but I am certainly not one of them.
The lack of change depresses me, regardless of the results.
And I certainly know a lot of people who very dissatified with their lifes, yet do nothing to change them.
I will not share my resolutions in detail, because they are rather personal.
However, some of my underlying resolutions would be:
Do everything differently and magic is bound to happen. Especially go out of you comfort zone. Make your zone of discomfort your new home.
Take your time to do things you really care about.
Seek disapproval. Learn how to live with it. Observe your body and your mind in the process. If you’re a perfectionist and dread criticism, just do things casually, then embrace criticism.
Try a career that everybody in your surrounding will find irrational, highly non-lucrative and having less than slim chances of success.
Give things away instead of buying more.
Be in love with fruits of your effort.
What are your resolutions for this year? Do you plan to do something radically different?
Wishing you a fresh 1st January!
